Director St. John Vianney Social Ministries

Have you ever wondered what our Parish’s social ministries are all about?
Do you know how they identify needy families and individuals?
Did you know that in 2007 they met with 2277 families and provided either food, clothing, financial assistance, bus tokens, advice, a bible and/or a referral to these
families?
The St. John Vianney Food Pantry provided 2933 bags of food to 1389 families. Some of the programs administered under Social Ministries are the Gabriel Project, Meals on Wheels, Christmas Adopt-a-Family, Joseph’s Coat, the Food Pantry and Hope Bags.
Our Social Ministries Director Sal Guttilla, started as a volunteer in 2004 after retiring from Aramco with 33 years of service. He was appointed Social Ministries Director in 2005. He has been a parishioner since 1986. Sal Guttilla will not just be discussing what social ministries does but what challenges and opportunities it faces as it expands service delivery for the future. Unfortunately, their business doesn’t slow down with a slower economy.
